Alastair graduated from Northumbria University in 1989, with a bachelor’s degree in business studies and has been in the financial services industry for nearly 30 years.  He gained much of his industry knowledge at the start of his career from working under Luarentian Life (now part of Sun Life of Canada Group) and A to Z insurance, a general insurance broker and running the Independent Financial Advisory arm of the Sheffield branch. 

In 1995 he joined a regional practice - The Adviser Group - as an independent financial adviser.  It was here that he started to gravitate towards the para-planning side of the business. In 1999, he joined Sheafmoor Life and Pensions, which evolved into Sheafmoor Money Management.

Alastair’s Head of Process role now is to focus on the more technical side of paraplanning and applies his wealth of knowledge and experience to supporting all of our advisers and paraplanners.

In his spare time, Alastair enjoys going out on his mountain bike and looking after his entertaining granddaughter!
