I have worked in the Financial Services industry for forty years. I am a qualified Financial Adviser and my particular areas of interest are pensions and investments. I love my role of helping clients achieve their financial goals. Many would think that it is all about spreadsheets, calculations and percentages. Yes, that needs to happen in the background, but the most important role is listening to client’s hopes, fears and plans for the future. I can then use technical knowledge to put a very personal plan into place that will be regularly reviewed, and will see clients through the rest of their lives. It is a privilege and responsibility knowing so much about a clients private financial affairs. The biggest sense of achievement is when a plan comes to fruition and clients then start to see the real value that professional financial advice can add. That gives me total job satisfaction.
Out of work, I love listening to live music, dog walking, camping and spending quality time with my family. I am also a media volunteer for Diabetes UK, helping to spread awareness and tackle the misconceptions of the condition.
